Boy Shoes and Weekend Party Outfits

How utterly fabulous is this photos display but Net-a-porter.com.
I thought I would include with this post some random photos that the Lovely Charmaine took of me this weekend. My flatmate and I combined our birthdays with Halloween and had a fantastic little house party.
As usual I dressed up. Thankfully most everyone else did too. It was a great night. Everyone we invited bar one person showed up and it was a great crowd.

Wearing Zac Posen dress, Bottega Venetta copies by Siren Shoes, Chanel Earrings and using my new smart phone – Nokia E63 (am trying to work myself up to using the E71 but baby steps are needed with new technology).

Using Inspiration

Today’s dressing adventure saw me looking to Ms Diabolina of My Super Sweet Fashion Diaryfor inspiration. She posted about her love of skinny jeans. I started thinking about wearing jeans today and then I saw all the lovely photos of the people that inspired her look and decided I’m going to do my own interpretation.

Lessons Learned

This morning I woke up and had an epiphany. I realised that for the last 2 months I haven’t once woke up with dread or thought about how much I hate work or what I can or can’t wear . I finally realised that I would rather wait tables to make extra money and do what I love instead of work a job that pays well but destroys my soul.

It’s funny how much a crappy work life can affect everything. My relationships suffered and my health suffered as well. But in the last couple of months, though I’ve been stressed about making the jump to freelance I still wouldn’t have it any other way.

Now that I’ve let you in on the best advice I have I can move on to my dressing adventure. The Blacktress is leaving Sydney. Very sad for me because she was a bit of home and I sorely need that sometimes. Tonight was her farewell and I wanted to go straight from my shift at Uturn to her drinks. Now the weather is funny again, sometimes hot and sometimes down right cold and today we can add it rain. So I paired this strapless dress with a singlet, tank top to the Americans, added a jacket and was ready to hit the streets. I’m wearing my Bottega Venetta copies. They are soooo high and I find that I walk funny in them but I like the way they looked an I knew I would be sitting down most of the night.

I think the silly photoshoots are here to stay.

The Adventures of Copies

Today’s dressing adventure was simple – it was boiling hot out and I wanted to look great whilst staying cool. I love this dress but rarely wear it. The neckline is really low so I always have to wear something underneath it.
I originally wore a different pair of shoes since I’m taking a feather out of The House of Style’s cap and wearing all my shoes this year, not just the favourite one’s. Well that all went by the way side when at lunch and I saw these beauties.

I stared at them for a long time in the shop and couldn’t figure out why the were calling me so insistently. Then when I got back to the office I went on Net-a-porter.com and spied these Bottega Veneta beauties for 566 pounds! My Siren pair were expensive at $180 Aussie but that price is still better than Net-a-porter.
