Breakfast in Surry Hills

This weekend was crazy busy for Shane and I.  So sorry in advance for the short post and only one photo.   Am wearing my fantastic new Zambesi leggings again.  I love them, have worn them already 3 times in one week.  They are so warm and comfy.  I paired them with my The Cause Hi Boot by Jeffrey Campbell and all day people were staring at my legs trying to work out if I was wearing really high boots or pants and boots combo.  I got so many comments.  I also got a lot of the stink eye but I’m kind of used to that.

Lusting for Jeffrey Campbell Shoes

Why doesn’t he stock in Australia???  By the time I get wind of the new styles my size is always gone.  I LOVE JC, how can you not.

Why oh why are they only available in a size 9! And why is no one even told me they were available. Must begin to follow Jeffrey Campbell on Twitter so that I can find out when new shoes are becoming available. Can’t have another incident like this occur.

Cougar induction night out and more on Glunge

Last night my wonderful fashion mentor had a birthday. She is now officially part of the Cougar Club as she is of that age but still looks so amazing that teenage boys go crazy for her.

Now because she is a an extreme Fashionista I knew I needed to be on my best fashion toes to play in her circles. As always when she puts together a soiree I meet the most amazing people and wonderful things happen.
So I’m still feeling the Glunge, leather skirt, studded belt and cut out boots. I found this leather skirt at General Pants by Don’t Ask Amanda and this belt at Supre. Now I have a short skirt and a long one. Need a fitted motorcycle jacket and then I will feel complete, well sort of, really need those Margiella cut out boots, then I’ll feel complete (till the next obsession hits).
Last night was a fun filled night filled with so much laughter. I had such a great time – ST you rock and happy birthday.

Working at Uturn

When I do my shift at Uturn, I always feel like I should look a bit funky to match the shops eclectic mix of vintage and resale items. The boss like us to be a little alternative but that’s not really my style.
Today’s dressing adventure started with this top that I love and bought a while ago from Uturn. It’s a peasant top and reminds of that whole Russian Style thing that was happening a while ago. I also have missed my Jeffrey Campbell boots. They remind me of the Martin Margiela Cut Out boots that I wish I owned. How fabulous does Ms Sea of Shoes look in those super hot boots. Never mind, my Jeffrey Campbell ones are TDF and I love them.

Hectic

Today’s dressing adventure was a funny but very hectic. I woke up and just knew I wanted wear this dress. It has the right amount of fashion flair to see me through to tonight’s production meetings but sweet enough to wear at my day job. The Jeffrey Campbell boots of course give me a bit of an edge which I think is needed to balance out the sweetness of this dress.

This morning during the daily dog run at the park, one of the dogs decided that it would be fun to pee on my boots. Lucky for me they are leather and wipe down easily. But It still wasn’t the best way to start your day and I wasn’t too happy this morning. Now I can laugh about it because a) I didn’t even realise I was peed on until way after the fact and b) every dog in the park then proceeded to come and lick my boots after. All the other dog owners were embarrassed thinking it might have been their dog that did it. Though now thinking about it, it might have been one of mine that did. Wouldn’t that be embarrassing.

Meetings

Today was a crazy day. Woke up and was on the go. I had several meetings and in the middle of it all needed to take little Vernon to the vet. Today’s dressing adventure started out with my leopard print belt. Just picked it up from the tailor who made a little bit smaller so it fits better around the waist. Paired it with my black dress and Jeffrey Campbell boots and viola ready to meet the Fashionistas of Sydney. Though the outfit probably wasn’t appropriate for walking the dogs.

Weekend out and about and photos with new tripod

This weekend my flatmate organised a night out in honour of his lovely sister visiting Sydney. I had in mind all day what I wanted to wear but sometime around midday I took violently against the outfit and decided I had to find a replacement.

I was shopping around my favourite vintage spots and found the most amazing peasant top and after a bit of haggling purchased it to wear.

On Sunday I decided to get a tripod so on the days the Jo doesn’t have time to take my photo or on weekends, I can still do an outfit post.

Had a second date and wanted to dress more like myself than my first date. But this time I also didn’t feel the need to tone it down. This me, like it or lump it.

Sydney Festival and the tale of PVC Leggings

I had an additional Saturday dressing adventure. I went to the Sydney Festival with a group of friends to see Santogold, Java, Sharon Jones & the Dapp Kings and Ms Grace Jones and many more give free concerts in and around the CBD.

Ms Grace was so fierce! She brought about 20 fans on stage and told security that she understands the need for security but they have to respect her fans, now that is FIERCE!

I bought my leggings to wear for Sat and they did not let me down. I was told a few times that I was very hot looking.

Saturday Morning Setup

Today’s dressing adventure began with me unwrapping my new Jeffrey Campbell boots from Karmaloop (thanks Ms Vintage for introducing me to this fab website). They are all that and a bag of chips!

RH said that he wanted to have an early brekkie and that a friend he wanted to introduce me to may come. Sometimes I worry that my friends think I need help meeting a man but then being over 40 and dating, I realise that introductions from friends are probably the best way to meet someone.

I thought about what ‘look’ I wanted but decided to just be me. Sometimes my extreme dress style puts men off. Jeans and tee and the new boots was the best way to go in these situations.

A quick shoutout to Nic for writing that wonderful post yesterday. He is such a lovely man.

Oh and the guy was lovely but not my type, **meh**.
