Splash of colour

Today was the last day of Aussie Fashion Week and I honestly have had enough dressing up. Since my ASOS.com order didn’t arrive till I came home from my last show, I have had to scramble every morning to get my outfits together and it’s been really stressful. Last night I wined and dined with two of my fashion hommies, photographer Natalia Horinkova and makeup artist Maree Spagnol, and we did a bit of late night shopping. I am embarrassed to say that I have never walked into the Sydney Topshop, my lovely hommies rectified this immediately by showing me around the shop. While checking the store out I found this super comfy dress. I love the splashes of blue.

Once I got it home I knew that all that was required was lady shoes and a lady bag and not much else.

Wearing Topshop dress, Rayban sunnies, Lovisa earrings, stack rings and bracelet (all on sale right now!), Jimmy Choo pumps, Louis Vuitton handbag.

And my hair did alright as well.

A Monochromatic event

I  really miss doing outfit posts so I decided the other night to take a few photos of myself doing the Monochromatic clothing trend.  I chose black and white (I always do) because those are my two favourite colours to wear.

I love that this trend never really gets old or goes out of style.  Though now that I have TWA I think I will need to dress a bit girlier.  I’m going to explore the floral and peplum trend and see how that works with my new short hair.

What I wore – 45th birthday celebration

Yesterday was my 45th birthday and I have missed doing outfit posts so I decided to go ahead and step in front the camera once again.

My lovely family and friends took me to see Looper Gold Class and it was fantastic! I dressed up for the occasion a little bit. I must say that I am kind of glad that the weather here turned a bit cold cause I got to wear my fabulous Stacy Lomman Cape.

This also gave me a chance to show everyone my new hair. I have chopped it all off and am going natural.

I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend.

Wearing Lanvin for the Opera House

This weekend Shane and I went to the Sydney Opera House to see the most entertaining show.  We saw the Wau Wau Sisters in a show entitled “The Last Supper” as part of the Sydney Festival.  This fantastic show had everything from comedy to acrobatics to music.  If you are in Sydney I highly recommend trying to get tickets, not only is the show a lot of fun, it’s in the most beautiful venue on this side of the hemisphere.    The Sydney Opera House with it’s gorgeous view of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and it’s fantastic restaurants is housed in the most amazing building.

For this occasion I decided to break out the Lanvin for H&M dress that I received as one of my Christmas presents from my AMAZING man.  I have to admit that I wasn’t too impressed with the collection.  Not only were the designs a bit off but they were poorly made.  But saying that, I really fell in love with this dress.  I paired it funky accessories like my fantastic Wendy Brandes NYC rings and my Prada copies by Rubi shoes.

I was such a beautiful night.  I wished I took my camera, the sunset over the bridge was spectacular.

Shane Show – Ying & Yang

Dress pants, jeans,…  collared shirt, tee,… dress shoes, sneakers,…  what to wear for what occasion?  We’ve all been there at some point.

As the ‘Yang’ of Lenya, (‘Ying’) I recently found myself attending two red carpet premieres in one week with only one outfit for both.  Previously I may have simply said, “So be it.” but I was soon to realize why sometimes new is in fact quite important.  For the first premiere I wore black pants with a white AG dress shirt and silver, yes silver blazer/sport jacket. Everything went as expected and all in all we had a great evening out.  However, when the second premiere came round only a few days later I knew I could not possibly wear the same outfit and risk photographers getting the same snap only a few days apart.

Here in lies the talent and foresight of Lenya. On a previous day of shopping Lenya had me step out of my comfort zone and try on an AG black velvet smoking jacket and rather funky Master Slave dress shirt. Needless to say, they both made it to my closet along with a ‘safer’ grey AG jacket with black piping.

I now found myself walking the carpet hand in hand, ying and yang, wearing my velvet smoking jacket, Master Slave shirt and simple black pants and shoes.  As we approached the cameras the main cast were having group shots and to my disbelief I saw that one of the lead actors was wearing the exact same ‘safer’ option jacket I had bought.  A breath of relief passed my lips as I now understood that not only did I have to wear something new but also have that foresight to wear something that both looks great and no one else would likely be wearing.

With a knowing smile on our faces and not a word spoken, Lenya and I strolled through for a glass of champagne and relaxed into another wonderful evening all thanks Lenya’s styling prowess and talent.

Last night I had the great pleasure of walking the red carpet and seeing Tomorrow, When the War Began.    I can truly say it restored my faith in Aussie film.  Great production, the crew should be really proud.  And a big thank you to Anthony for getting Shane and I our tickets.  It was soo good to hang out with you and your beautiful lady Joanna.  I also want to send a super special thank you to Carl and Weihan of Carl Kapp for lending me this fantastic dress.

Breakfast in Surry Hills

This weekend was crazy busy for Shane and I.  So sorry in advance for the short post and only one photo.   Am wearing my fantastic new Zambesi leggings again.  I love them, have worn them already 3 times in one week.  They are so warm and comfy.  I paired them with my The Cause Hi Boot by Jeffrey Campbell and all day people were staring at my legs trying to work out if I was wearing really high boots or pants and boots combo.  I got so many comments.  I also got a lot of the stink eye but I’m kind of used to that.

All That Glitters Is Not Necessarily Gold

My camera has finally died and I have to use the camera on my phone for now till I gather enough
money to buy the camera I really want.

Today I was feeling a bit glitzy girly. Wanted a bit of bows and sparkle. I had a bit of fashiony
running around to do and wanted to be a bit fierce.

Sorry in advance for the blurry photos.

Fat Jeans & Stripes

Yesterday’s fashion adventure was a bit of a mish mash. I went to put on my skinny jeans only to realise that I’ve put on a few kilos and don’t fit them. YIKES! So I had to put on my fat jeans which is always a bummer. I don’t know what possessed me to put on stripes which of course is supposed to make you look fatter but I did. I was loving myself sick in the morning when I took these photos but am now thinking it was a big mistake. Oh well you can’t get it right everyday.

Feelling Sassy in my Rugby Wrap Francis Dress

Today’s dressing adventure saw me wearing another Francis Dress. This one is the Rugby Wrap Dress, which I love because it so easy to wear. The dress is also very flattering. Again I must thankMs Wendy B for introducing me to this fabulous line of dresses. I now have two dressy ones and two casual ones. I’m currently contemplating what I should own of his fall line.

Today was a funny day weather wise, really beautiful till the sun went down and then really chilly. Spring is in the air. I hope it comes soon.
