My 300th Post!
For everyone in Sydney and coming to Sydney in February for Mardi Gras, please make your way to the Blank Space in Surry Hills for the cut-throat exhibition.
This exhibition of glamorous drag, is a highly-stylised montage of images that reflect menacing dark undertones that are highlighted by the subtle gender ambiguity:
the unexpected upon closer inspection. The bold use of colour complements the courageous, in-your-face characters that many of us would like to be but few have the courage to realise.
cut-throat features prominent Diva award winning Drag Queen, Tora Hyman, and newcomer Giselle wearing beautiful gowns from Jovani and Blue Velvet Fashion. The extremely talented and popular Drag Kings, D’Vynal and Suitor, were dressed all in vintage from Mr Stinky’s. The fantastic setting of the Barberia barber shop on Crown Street lent to the air of barber shop drama that sets the tone for this collection.
