You are too old to wear that . . .

or so I was told by my son today. Thus began my dressing adventure. I’m running around today and it seems summer has returned so I thought shorts and a tee were the best option. I don’t understand why I need to look a certain way to be a mother. But nevertheless, this isn’t the first time my son has said such a thing and I’m sure it won’t be the last. Today I’ve ignored him, too hot to care.

Easy Dressing

Today’s dressing adventure was one that I approached with caution. The weather has once again gone haywire in Sydney and I had no idea how to dress this morning. Yesterday was cold and rainy but the sun was shining this morning.

I started with this dress which really doesn’t get enough use. It’s from Ruche.com and I love the fabric, it is so soft. Next up the white singlet, the neckline on the dress is too low to wear without a layer underneath and my obi belt. Of course I had to wear these shoes and voila I can run out the door.

Christmas Eve and I’m working :(

Today’s dressing adventure wasn’t an easy one. It’s Christmas Eve and the last place I want to be is in the office where there is only one other person on duty. It’s nearly midday and I have had 2 calls! I don’t have a photographer today so I used the self timer. As you can see the results are less than satisfactory. After about 20 different attempts I decided this is the best one (especially cause my head is cut off).

I purchased this dress a while back from Ruche.com and absolutely love it. I’ve worn it a few times to go out, it has an extremely low neckline, but have been dying to wear it to work. The dress is very sheer and unfortunately this photo exposes the fact that I’m wearing a slip.

Half Light & All White

This is a weekend post that didn’t get posted on the weekend. I went to an amazing art exhibition at the Art Gallery of New South Wales (AGNSW) called Half Light. This is an fantastic photographic exhibition done by the indigenous people of Australia. Here is a brief description:

“This is the first major survey of the work of Australian Indigenous artists engaging with the photographic medium and the portrait. Showcasing a range of techniques from classical black-and-white portraiture to digital imagery, the exhibition offers an unprecedented insight into the black experience that transcends national borders and the harsh reality of the everyday.”

After viewing the exhibition and hearing four of the photographers discuss the inspiration for their work, my friends and I decided to have High Tea at the Art Gallery restaurant. It was a fabulous day with friends.
