Wearing UnNaked Feather Shoulder Tee, Forever21 Feather Skirt and Master Slave Shoes
Last night was “Date Night”. I kind of hate that term but in long term relationships, it ‘s necessary to have these kind of evenings. Shane and I went to see Black Swan with Natalie Portman. I saw it a few weeks ago with my bestie but it was soo amazing that I really needed to see it again. The Story within the Story was incredible and Natalie Portman’s performance is truly Oscar worthy.
For this “special occasion” I decided to dress with the Black Swan theme in mind. I purchased this feathered shoulder tee shirt last year from The Dirty Launderette which has now closed. Thankfully you can still purchase UnNaked items from their website - http://www.getunnaked.com. The skirt was the last purchase I made on my New York trip earlier this year. My lovely brother gave me a gift voucher to Forever21 which I promptly used to purchase a few things before I left. This Feather skirt is a perfect match with my tee for my Black Swan theme. The only thing I’m missing is the Black Swan ring from Wendy Brandes that I wish I had. You can purchase it here from her fantastic website.
If you haven’t seen the movie I suggest you rung out and see it now. It is definitely an unforgettable experience.

Funny that I’ve become a bit of a Forever21 person. I blame Da Fashionista for this. She always makes it look so good. I bought this tee and skirt in LA where I might add it wasn’t any where near as hot as it’s been in Sydney. Yesterday topped 34 degrees Celsius, which is 94 degrees Fahrenheit.
I had a heap of meetings yesterday in this heat and I needed to look fashionable. I like the multi pattern thing that is going on and I hope this style stays for a little while. It’s so liberating to not have match everything all the time.
I hope my American friends and family are staying safe in these blizzard conditions. My thoughts are with all of you on the East Coast.
I promised my son that I would credit him as the photographer for the photos so – Photographs taken by Kadeem Aarons.
Have been playing with the turban. Not sure if I got it right. My inspiration is Ms InnyVinny (if you don’t read her then you really really should!) She even made a short video on how to tie a Turban. In this insane Sydney heat and humidity you would think wearing one of these would be murder but surprisingly it wasn’t.

I still don’t feel like it’s totally right but I thought I would experiment with this trend. What new trends are you experimenting with? I would love to know.
Shane and I aren’t beach people and coming from Australia (the home of beautiful beaches) we have been really reluctant on this trip to go anywhere near the LA beaches. Today we spontaneously decided to drive to Santa Monica and walk the pier. I was pleasantly surprised. I think cause it wasn’t beachy like we are used to. As Shane most aptly put, the beaches here are as if the city kept going till tit hit the water.
We also decided to drive to Venice beach which was a disappointment. Then we drove back to Beverly Hills to a few store parties and wangled our way into Fred Segal where we met and Shane took a photo with Dita Von Tesse. All and all and amazing day. Glad my outfit took me from day to night.
